Gary E. Mason is a founding Partner at Whitfield Bryson & Mason LLP in Washington, D.C. Focusing on consumer class actions and mass torts, Mr. Mason has recovered more than $1.5 billion in the 22 years he has represented plaintiffs. He is nationally known for representing consumers in class actions involving a wide range of defective products, including Chinese drywall, fire retardant plywood, polybutylene pipe, high-temperature plastic venting, hardboard siding, pharmaceutical products, consumer electronics and automobiles.

He has served in leadership positions in many consumer class actions in State and Federal Courts nationwide as well as in Multi-District Litigation. His practice highlights include serving as Lead Counsel for class of Google Buzz users who alleged wrongful disclosure of private information which settled for $8.5 million. He also served as Co-Lead Counsel in collective action for unpaid overtime, settled for $42 million, on behalf of more than 5,000 current and former assistant store managers at Staples and as Co-Lead Counsel in class action against Department of Veterans Affairs for theft of private information which settled for $20 million.

Mr. Mason clerked for the Honorable Andrew J. Kleinfeld, U.S. District Court Judge, in Anchorage, Alaska.

He graduated magna cum laude from Brown University and earned his law degree from Duke University Law School.
