T. Markus Funk is the founding Co-Chair of Perkins Coie's Supply Chain Compliance Practice. Mr. Funk has successfully tried 24 federal jury cases, argued and briefed dozens of federal appeals, directed hundreds of investigations, and on a daily basis advises public and private entities and individuals on challenging ethics and compliance matters. In private practice since 2010, Mr. Funk focuses on internal investigations, complex commercial litigation both at the trial and appellate levels, white collar criminal defense, corporate social responsibility and supply chain compliance, and corporate counseling.

Mr. Funk previously served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in Chicago, from 2000-10 and as Section Chief with the U.S. State Department in the Balkans. During his time in public service, Mr. Funk and his team prosecuted "Operation Family Secrets," which National Public Radio lauded as "one of the most important criminal investigations . . . in American history." Mr. Funk has the distinction of being the only person to have received both the Department of Justice's Attorney General's Award and the State Department's Superior Honor Award.

Mr. Funk has taught international law at the University of Chicago, criminal procedure at Northwestern University School of Law and U.K. and comparative criminal law at Oxford University.

Mr. Funk clerked for the Hon. Catherine Perry, Chief Judge, U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri and the Hon. Morris Arnold, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit, He earned his B.S.B.A, summa cum laude, from the University of Illinois, his J.D. from Northwestern University School of Law and a Ph.D.c from the University of Oxford.
