Billing and Payment:
For billed orders, invoices are mailed to the billing address; payment is due within 30 days. Each invoice includes the cost of the book(s), state sales tax, and actual shipping and handling charges.
For prepaid U.S. orders, remit the cost of the book(s), state sales tax, and shipping charges of $16 for the first volume, and $9 for each additional volume, for each shipping location.
Why can’t I get a final invoice total?
At this time think and code is calculating UPS shipping charges in real time. Once you place your order, tax, shipping, and handling charges are calculated, minus any discount you may qualify for. We will mail you an invoice that shows your final total. If you pay by credit card, we will send you a confirmation that will indicate your final total.
Special Offers & Promotional Codes
You will find promotional (or discount) codes on think and code mailings, in our e-mail campaigns, and at conferences where we exhibit. If you have a code to apply towards your online purchase, please enter the code in the Coupon Codes field in your shopping cart at checkout. You also may use a code when placing a mail, fax, or phone order. The highest discount will be applied to your order. Please note that discounts cannot be combined.
Is a purchase order required?
No. think and code does not require a purchase order number. Some companies, however, will not honor an invoice unless it is associated with a purchase order. Check with your accounting department.
Why do I have to sign up as a member?
You are not required to sign up as a member. When you do, however, your shipping and billing address will be retained so you don’t have to re-enter your information for future transactions.
What do I do if I forget my login information?
Click on "Sign In" in the top right corner—you can change your password, manage personal data, query order status, manage shopping lists, and update delivery addresses.
Can I ship to more than one address?

We’re tax exempt; what can I do to stop my invoices from including taxes?

How do I create a wish list?
Sign in to create your wish list under “Manage shopping lists.” You can generate and save several wish lists.
What are my payment options?
You can pay with a credit card (VISA, MasterCard, American Express), or we can bill you.
Is my credit card information secure?
Yes. Our secure server software encrypts all your personal information (including credit card number, name and address) with 128-bit encryption, currently the most secure encryption software available. This encryption prevents your information from being read as it travels over the internet. Additionally, most banks either cover all the charges that result from unauthorized use of your credit card or may limit your liability to a very small amount. How long does it take to get my order?
If a book is in stock, your order will be shipped the day after it is received via UPS Ground delivery. Should you require your book overnight, please indicate a different method of shipping when you place your order. (Please note, however, that if a method other than UPS Ground is requested for shipping, think and code will not refund shipping costs if an order is returned.)
What happens if I order a title that is not yet published?
If a book is not in stock or not yet published, we will send you a backorder invoice indicating the estimated publication date. Your credit card will not be charged until the book is sent.
How do I update my mailing information?

How do I order a book if I’m outside the U.S.?
All foreign orders are shipped by air via FedEx. Shipping and handling charges are $75 for the first book and $35 for each additional book, for each shipping location. Customer is responsible for any applicable customs or tax expenses. All orders must be paid in U.S. dollars.
All domestic orders are shipped via United Parcel Service, unless another method of shipment is specified. Please note that UPS does not deliver to P.O. Boxes. A packing slip accompanies each shipment. Same-day shipment is available for an additional $35 on orders called in to 1.800.960.1220 before 11:00 a.m. EST. If a method other than UPS Ground is requested for shipping (i.e. overnight, etc.), think and code will not refund shipping costs if the order is returned.

How do I return a book?
If you’re not completely satisfied with your order, simply return it within 30 days of receipt for a full refund or cancellation of all charges.* Please include a copy of your invoice or packing slip for proper credit. Returns should be sent via UPS to:

Only unmarked and resalable books sent to the address listed above will be issued full credit. Partial returns of prepacks and bundled titles are NOT allowed. The customer will receive full credit for all UPS shipping expenses.

What is Standing Order?
All our titles are standing order titles. This means that new editions or supplements will be automatically sent to you on your 30-day approval. You may decline this service upon placing your order or at any time thereafter by contacting us at 1.800.960.1220 or via e-mail at [email protected]. Government, retail, and wholesale accounts will not receive automatic Standing Order shipments.
How often are supplements published?
Supplements are published as the laws change. We make an editorial decision on the importance of the change when we schedule the publication of a supplement. Most of our supplements are published annually; however, there are a few titles that require more regular supplementation.
What is your policy on reprinting parts of your books?
You may send a reprint request stating exactly what you would like to reprint and how many copies will be distributed. Send request to think and code Business Administrator, 1801 S Bell Street, Arlington, VA 22202. You can also fax your request to 703.341.1610.
Examination Copy Policy
Professors may request any think and code title for possible adoption for classroom use on a 60-day examination basis. If we’re notified that a firm order has been placed for at least 10 copies, the invoice will be canceled. If not, professors may keep the book at a 25% educator’s discount (plus tax and shipping) or return it and we will cancel the invoice. Desk copies are provided at no charge when a think and code title is selected as a main classroom text. Upon request, libraries may also get a complimentary copy when a book is adopted as a main classroom text.
All think and code treatises are available on standing order, which ensures you will always receive the most current edition of the book or supplement of the title you have ordered from think and code’s book division. As soon as a new supplement or edition is published (usually annually) for a title you’ve previously purchased and requested to be placed on standing order, we’ll ship it to you to review for 30 days without any obligation. During this period, you can either (a) honor the invoice and receive a 5% discount (in addition to any other discounts you may qualify for) off the then-current price of the update, plus shipping and handling or (b) return the book(s), in which case, your invoice will be cancelled upon receipt of the book(s). Call us for a prepaid UPS label for your return. It’s as simple and easy as that. Most importantly, standing orders mean you will never have to worry about the timeliness of the information you’re relying on. And, you may discontinue standing orders at any time by contacting us at 1.800.960.1220 or by sending an email to [email protected].
